I'm a Canadian freelance writer with a career history in sales and purchasing in the Information Technology industry. I worked in IT from 1991 until 2004 when I left for maternity leave. Despite my love for business, I decided to pursue my dream of working from home. I currently write from a lake front home in the Kawarthas of Ontario. Sturgeon Lake is famous for breathtaking sunsets and some of the best Pickerel fishing around. This creates an inspiring place to write and a happy place to be for my family.
An Extensive Professional Business Background
I spent my last ten years in business working for a global conglomerate that is recognized as one of the most admired companies in the world. While employed there, I won numerous employee awards in sales, customer service and related to Six Sigma Quality. I have a wealth of expertise in business from a sales, purchasing and marketing perspective with an extensive history in software licensing and customer sales.
Today, I enjoy writing most about health, writing, making money online and self-improvement but am well versed on many topics. I have several blogs and enjoy moderating several online forums focused on freelance writing and writer mentoring. I have several regular clients in the areas of online consulting, search engine optimization and I team lead for a large UK writing agency that has many clients on a global basis. I work regularly for several other clients in Canada, the U.S, the UK and the Caribbean. I also work as a topic editor and moderator for www.inspiredauthor.com who provides free mentoring and advice for those looking to break into freelancing.
Writing Career Highlights
Some of my writing career highlights so far are: several magazine contributions, ghostwriting a book on the laws of attraction, ghostwriting a book on child acting and successful blogs in several areas including, cooking, parenting, writer mentoring and alternative health. I feel fortunate that my career allows me to learn while I work and continually absorbing new information as part of the writing process is a very rewarding part of my business.
2008 is expected to be an exciting and busy year for me as I continue to grow my writing business and work on several projects including two books (a self-help book and a novel). I believe in family, faith, optimism and integrity and strive to provide my writing clients with excellence and a positive experience.
